날짜 · 75th edition 예상Not yet published. The festival opens in the first days of July and closes in the first week of September - 4 July to 5 September 2026 - and the Fondazione Ravello announces the following summer's programme in the spring. Applying that pattern to 2027, whose corresponding Saturdays are 3 July and 4 September, gives those dates. 2027 would be the 75th edition.

Ravello, Ravello Festival

Ravello sits on a ridge above Amalfi at about 350 metres, reached by a switchback road from the coast, and the festival exists because of one view. The stage on the Belvedere at Villa Rufolo is built out over the edge of the terrace with nothing behind the players but the gardens, the drop and the Gulf of Salerno; an orchestra performs there with the sea five hundred metres below and the coastline running away toward Salerno. It is the most theatrical concert platform in Europe and the festival has been built around it for seventy years.

The programme runs from early July to the first week of September and mixes symphonic concerts, chamber music in the villa's indoor Sala dei Cavalieri, jazz, dance, film and an art exhibition in the villa. The Auditorium Oscar Niemeyer, a white concrete shell with a single round window facing the sea, opened in the town in 2010 and adds an indoor hall.

The festival's best-known single event is the Concerto all'alba, the sunrise concert, played in the small hours of an August morning to an audience that arrives before four in the morning and watches the sun come up over the gulf during the performance. It sells out every year and is the reason many people come.

01중요한 이유

The Amalfi Coast in August is one of the most heavily visited stretches of shoreline in the world and has very little serious culture programmed into it; Ravello is the exception, and it is a real festival rather than a resort attraction. Its orchestras and conductors are of international standing - the 2026 season closed with Simon Rattle - and its programming reaches well beyond the Wagnerian repertoire it began with. In our reading, its significance is that it gives the Mediterranean summer a fixed cultural date in the way Salzburg does for the Alps, and that it does so in a town of 2,500 people that has to be driven up to. It is also, for a visitor, one of the more obtainable things in this calendar: tickets are sold publicly online, prices are ordinary by the standards of an international festival, and a great deal of the programme can be booked in the same week you attend.

02전후 일주일

Ravello is a small hill town above the busiest coast in Italy, and the festival's effect is to fill its evenings without changing its days. The town is closed to through traffic and organized around two piazzas, the Duomo and the entrance to Villa Rufolo; everything is within five minutes on foot. Below on the coast road, Amalfi, Atrani, Minori and Maiori are ten to twenty-five minutes down by bus or car and are at their full summer load, and the SS163 corniche between Positano and Vietri moves at walking pace on August afternoons. The practical consequence is that a concert at nine in the evening means leaving the coast at seven. Villa Cimbrone's belvedere, the Duomo and the walk down the old stepped path to Atrani are the town's daytime substance; the beaches are all below and require the descent. Anyone using the festival as the frame for an Amalfi trip should treat Ravello as the base rather than the excursion.

03도착 시기

Two or three nights in Ravello itself is right, timed around two concerts. Arrive in the afternoon, since the drive up from Naples or Salerno takes longer than any map suggests. If the sunrise concert is the objective, book it as far ahead as possible and stay in the town, because there is no way down and back up at three in the morning. Otherwise a longer Amalfi stay with two evenings up in Ravello works well. September, after the festival's last week, is the best time on this coast and worth extending into.

04숙박 장소

Ravello itself is the answer if you are here for the festival, and the town's hotels are converted villas and monasteries along the ridge with the coast's best views and its calmest evenings - the Palazzo Avino, the Caruso and the Villa Cimbrone are the landmark addresses, and there are smaller family-run places around the Duomo. Supply is small and the summer is long, so book early. Below, Amalfi and Atrani are the closest coast towns, fifteen minutes down, with more rooms and a beach; Minori and Maiori east of them are cheaper and less crowded. Positano is forty-five minutes west in traffic and is a different, more strenuous kind of stay. Salerno, half an hour east and served by fast trains, is the unglamorous practical base and the only one with real hotel volume.

05접근성 및 환대 행사

Tickets are sold publicly by the Fondazione Ravello through its own online box office and at the box office in the town, with the programme published and sales opening in the spring. Pricing is tiered by seating position on the Belvedere stage and by event, and the festival runs reduced prices for young audiences. The sunrise concert is the single hardest ticket and sells first. There is no membership requirement, no hospitality tier in the sense used elsewhere in this calendar, and no dress code. Villa Rufolo itself is open to the public as a monument during the day, separately ticketed, so the terrace and gardens can be seen without a concert. No prices are quoted here because the ticketing pages were not read directly.

06사교 활동 장소

Almost everything happens in the open, in a town small enough to cross in five minutes. The Piazza Duomo, with its cafes and the cathedral steps, is where the audience gathers before and after concerts; the gardens and terraces of Villa Rufolo are open before the performance; the Via della Repubblica and the paths toward Villa Cimbrone carry the evening walk. The hotel terraces along the ridge - the Palazzo Avino's and the Caruso's among them - are the town's bars and are open to non-residents who book. After a late concert Ravello empties quickly and quietly; there is no nightlife here, which is much of its appeal. The louder version of the coast is down in Amalfi and Positano.

07찾아가는 방법

상업 항공Naples Capodichino is the arrival airport, about two hours to Ravello by road via the Amalfi coast road, or ninety minutes via Salerno on a good day. Salerno Costa d'Amalfi airport, much closer, has limited scheduled service. Rome Fiumicino is four hours.
철도There is no rail on the Amalfi Coast. Salerno station, half an hour east of Ravello by road, is on the high-speed line - Rome in two hours, Naples in 35 minutes - and is the sensible rail arrival, followed by a taxi, bus or ferry-and-bus combination. Naples Centrale is the alternative.
자동차The SS163 coast road from Sorrento or Salerno is spectacular, narrow and slow, and in July and August it is very slow indeed; the climb to Ravello turns off at Castiglione near Atrani. Parking in Ravello is in two paid garages and is limited. Many hotels arrange transfers, which is the recommended way to arrive.
프라이빗 항공Naples Capodichino handles business aviation and is the practical option at around two hours by road; Salerno Costa d'Amalfi is closer but with fewer handling arrangements. Rome Ciampino is the alternative for larger aircraft.
헬리콥터Helicopter transfers from Naples and Rome to the Amalfi Coast are widely operated in summer and several Ravello and coast hotels have arrangements for landing nearby; nothing is published as a scheduled service. It is the only way to avoid the coast road in August.
마리나Amalfi, Maiori and Positano have small harbours and moorings, and the coast is heavily used by charter yachts in summer; tendering ashore at Amalfi and driving up to Ravello is a common arrival. Salerno's marina is the nearest substantial berthing. Ferries run along the coast from Salerno, Amalfi, Positano and Sorrento through the season.

08실용 정보

복장There is no dress code and the festival does not publish one. The Belvedere is an outdoor terrace on a cliff and the audience dresses for a summer evening - linen, light dresses, jackets carried rather than worn. Two practical points: it is materially cooler at 350 metres than on the beach below and the wind comes off the sea after dark, so bring a layer even in August; and the approach to the stage is across gravel and garden steps, which rules out thin heels.
날씨July and August in Ravello typically bring daytime highs around 27 to 29C, four or five degrees below the coast at sea level, and overnight lows near 19C, with very little rain - 15 to 30 mm a month. Evenings on the Belvedere are pleasant and often breezy. Concerts on the outdoor stage are occasionally moved indoors or postponed for weather, which is announced by the festival on the day.
이동 안내Ravello is pedestrian within its walls and everything is walkable. SITA buses connect Amalfi and Ravello roughly hourly, taking about 25 minutes on a road with hairpins; taxis are available but few and expensive. Driving up in the late afternoon in August is slow, and the two garages fill. Hotel transfers and pre-booked cars are the least troublesome arrangement. Ferries along the coast are often faster than the road in high summer.
호텔Ravello's hotel stock is very small - a handful of converted villas plus family-run pensioni - and the Amalfi Coast's July and August demand is among the highest in Europe. Book by the winter for August, and expect minimum stays. June and September are markedly easier and, in September, better weather. The coast towns below have more supply but are considerably busier.
레스토랑Ravello has a small number of good restaurants, including hotel dining rooms open to non-residents, and they book up on concert evenings; reserve, and eat late, after the performance, which is what the town does. The coast towns below have more choice but the drive back up in the dark discourages it. The local produce - lemons, Colatura from Cetara, the wines of the Costa d'Amalfi - is genuinely worth attention.
예약 시기The festival programme is published and tickets go on sale in the spring; the sunrise concert and the marquee orchestral dates go first, and much of the rest is available close to the date. Ravello hotels want six months for August. Restaurant tables a few days, longer for the hotel dining rooms on concert nights.
티켓Sold publicly by the Fondazione Ravello through its own online box office and its box office in the town, with the programme announced in the spring. Prices are tiered by position on the Belvedere and by event, and reduced pricing for young audiences is published. The sunrise concert sells out earliest. Villa Rufolo is separately ticketed as a daytime monument, which is how to see the terrace without a concert. No prices are stated here because the ticketing pages were not read directly.
환대 행사The festival runs no hospitality programme in the sense used elsewhere in this calendar. The Fondazione Ravello publishes sponsorship and support arrangements and works with the region and the town; corporate partners are acknowledged in the programme. Hotels in Ravello package rooms with concert tickets and are the practical route for a visitor who wants both arranged together.

09역사

Wagner visited Ravello in May 1880 and wrote in the visitors' book at Villa Rufolo that he had found the magic garden of Klingsor - the setting for the second act of Parsifal, which he was then completing. The festival grew from that association: concerts were staged in the villa from the early twentieth century and the modern festival dates from 1953, when it was established as a Wagner festival. It broadened steadily through the following decades into a general music and arts programme, and the Fondazione Ravello was created to run it. Ravello's cultural draw is older still: the town has been a retreat for northern European writers, composers and designers since the nineteenth century, and Villa Cimbrone, the other great garden here, was remade by an English peer in the early twentieth century. The Oscar Niemeyer auditorium, designed in 2000 and opened in 2010 after years of local dispute, is the town's one piece of modern architecture.

10참석자

Italian concertgoers, particularly from Naples, Salerno and Rome, who form the base of the audience; the international summer population of the Amalfi Coast, drawn up from the hotels and villas below; a long-standing northern European following, German, British and Scandinavian, some of it Wagnerian in origin; visiting musicians and orchestras; and day visitors from the coast towns for the marquee dates. The sunrise concert draws a younger and much broader crowd than the rest of the programme.
