Row of weights

Circuit Score methodology

An editorial importance rating from 0 to 100, built from eight weighted factors. It is a way of making editorial judgment consistent, not a measurement, and it is provisional while the calendar is being built.

The factors and their approximate weights

20%Concentration of influential attendees
15%International draw
15%Private-event ecosystem
15%Cultural importance
10%Business and networking relevance
10%Luxury-brand presence
10%Scarcity and access
5%Destination significance

Each factor is scored by the editors from 0 to 100 relative to the whole calendar, then combined with the weights above and rounded. Scores of 90 and above are labelled Defining, 80–89 Major, 65–79 Significant, 50–64 Notable, and below 50 Regional. Where a factor has not yet been scored it is treated as neutral and the rating is marked as such.

What it is for

The score orders what you see: which events lead the week, which count as “major” in the month ahead, which make the season line, how heavy a weekend reads in the index. It is not a recommendation to attend anything, and two events with the same score can be entirely different in character.

What it is not

It is not scientific and does not claim to be. There is no attendee data behind “concentration of influential attendees”; there is editorial reading of the publicly reported programme behind “private-event ecosystem”. Component scores are stored as structured data and reviewed by editors; they are not published, and the API returns only the total. Sponsorship never changes a score — see the advertising disclosure.
