Menswear gets its own calendar in Paris, and over the past decade it has stopped being the junior version of the womenswear week. The January 2026 edition carried 35 shows and 32 presentations across six days; June 2026 carried 34 and 38. The order of the menswear round runs Florence, then Milan, then Paris, and the same logic applies as in womenswear: the houses with the most at stake go last.

The week is younger and looser than its womenswear counterpart. A larger share of the calendar is made up of labels under fifteen years old, the venue choices run further out of the centre, and the presentation format - a room, a rail, a designer who will talk to you - accounts for nearly half the entries. Streetwear, tailoring and the Japanese and Korean labels that have made Paris their showing city sit on the same four days, which is why the audience shifts character between mid-morning and late evening more than it does in March or September.

What a visitor sees is almost entirely exterior. Shows are by invitation from the house and the FHCM accredits press and buyers; nothing is sold. The pavements outside the venues, however, are the most photographed in fashion during these six days, and standing on them is free.

01Warum es relevant ist

Menswear is the faster-growing half of most large houses' ready-to-wear business, and Paris is where that is negotiated. The buying decisions made in these six days cover department store and specialist menswear floors worldwide, and the appointment of a menswear designer at a Paris house is now treated as seriously as a womenswear appointment was twenty years ago.

In our reading the week's significance is structural rather than spectacular. London no longer runs a separate menswear week - since 2025 the British Fashion Council has channelled its menswear effort into Paris-based showrooms - and Florence is a trade fair rather than a runway city. That leaves Milan and Paris as the only two runway menswear weeks of consequence, and Paris as the one that closes.

02Die Woche darum

The January edition is the first half of a ten-day Paris stay for most of the press corps: menswear closes on a Sunday and couture opens on the Monday, and in 2027 the federation has set them at January 19 to 24 and January 25 to 28. The June edition falls in the last week of the month, a fortnight before couture and immediately after Milan's menswear week, and coincides with the start of the Paris summer - open terraces, long evenings, and a city that has not yet emptied for August.

June is the pleasanter week by some distance. Show venues in the eleventh, nineteenth and twentieth arrondissements mean the industry spends these days in parts of the city the womenswear week never reaches, and the bars and restaurants around the Canal Saint-Martin, Belleville and Menilmontant carry the evenings. January is cold, dark and concentrated in the centre.

03Anreisezeitpunkt

Buyers arrive Monday for a Tuesday start and stay to the Saturday; the Sunday is a short day that many skip. For the January edition the efficient trip is the full ten days covering menswear and couture, arriving the Sunday before menswear opens. Anyone in Paris for the city rather than the calendar should prefer the June dates, and should know that the only thing they can actually attend is the street outside.

04Unterkunft

The Marais and the third and eleventh arrondissements are where this week's geography sits, close to both the Carreau du Temple and the showroom cluster of the Haut Marais. The first and second are the default for buyers who also work the Place des Victoires showrooms. The tenth and nineteenth are cheaper, closer to the out-of-centre venues and where a large part of the week's younger audience stays. January is a soft month for Paris hotels; late June is busier and should be booked earlier.

05Zugang und Hospitality

Runway access is by invitation from the house. The FHCM accredits press and buyers each season on application and publishes the provisional and final calendars free on its own site. There is no public ticket, no hospitality package and no published price at any tier. The showroom sessions that run alongside the shows are for accredited buyers.

06Wo das gesellschaftliche Geschehen stattfindet

The Carreau du Temple and the Palais de Tokyo forecourts are the week's two reliable gathering points, and the crowd of photographers and onlookers outside them is as much the event as what happens inside. The rue de Turenne, the rue Charlot and the Place de la Republique carry the daytime traffic; in June, the Canal Saint-Martin quays and the bars of the eleventh take the evenings. Concept stores in the Marais and around the rue Saint-Honore open late during the week and are open to anyone. Brand dinners and after-parties are private and are not described here.

07Anreise

LinienluftfahrtCharles de Gaulle (CDG) for long-haul and Orly (ORY) for short-haul. Neither January nor late June is a peak arrival period, though the Wimbledon and summer-holiday traffic begins to build in the last week of June.
BahnEurostar from London to Gare du Nord in about two and a quarter hours; TGV from Milan, which is the relevant connection for anyone following the menswear round from Florence and Milan to Paris.
AutoUnnecessary and slow. The out-of-centre venues are all on the Metro, and street parking around show sites is suspended when permits are issued.
PrivatluftfahrtParis-Le Bourget, twenty minutes north of the centre.

08Praktische Hinweise

KleidungThe most self-conscious dressing on the calendar, because the pavement outside each venue is a working set. Inside there is no code. Practically, the week involves a great deal of walking and standing in January cold or June heat, and the people who cope best are in flat shoes and a coat or a jacket that photographs well. Evening events are informal by the standards of couture week.
WetterLate January in Paris is cold and often wet, with daytime highs commonly between 5 and 9 degrees Celsius; late June is warm and long-lit, frequently in the mid to high twenties, with occasional thunderstorms. No station normals were sourced for this record.
Vor Ort navigierenThe Metro covers every venue and is faster than a car; lines 3, 8, 9 and 11 reach the Marais and eleventh-arrondissement sites, and line 9 the Palais de Tokyo. Short street closures are issued per show. Taxis are difficult in the hour after simultaneous evening shows.
HotelsJanuary is one of the cheapest months in the Paris hotel market and the menswear week barely registers in it. Late June is materially busier and central rooms should be booked two to three months ahead.
RestaurantsThe Marais and the eleventh hold most of the week's dinners and the better-known rooms there go two to three weeks out. Lunch is easy throughout. In June, terrace tables along the Canal Saint-Martin are taken from early evening and do not accept bookings.
ReservierungszeitpunktHotels three to four weeks ahead for January, eight to twelve weeks for June. Restaurants two to three weeks for the Marais and eleventh. FHCM accreditation closes several weeks before each season.
TicketsNone is sold. Shows are by house invitation; professional access is by FHCM accreditation. The official calendar is published free on fhcm.paris, including past seasons.
HospitalityNo hospitality is sold by the federation or by the houses. Partner brands operate services around the calendar rather than packages. No prices exist to report.

09Geschichte

Paris has shown menswear collections on an organized calendar since the 1970s, but the present fixture dates from the federation's reorganization of the menswear schedule in the 2010s, when it was formalized as Paris Fashion Week Menswear and given the January and June slots it still holds. The decisive change came later, when houses that had shown menswear as an appendix to their womenswear collections began treating the menswear show as a separate creative exercise with its own designer and budget. The calendar grew accordingly, and the number of presentations - cheaper, smaller, appointment-based - grew faster than the number of runway shows, which is how the week absorbed so many new labels without extending beyond six days.

10Wer ist dort

Menswear buyers from department stores, specialist retailers and e-commerce platforms; house executives and design studios; menswear and style editors; a large contingent of photographers and content creators, proportionally larger than at the womenswear weeks; Japanese and Korean wholesale agents, who are a significant presence in Paris specifically; and the showroom operators who handle the labels not on the runway calendar.
