The Dubai Airshow runs for five days every second November on a purpose-built site beside Al Maktoum International Airport at Dubai World Central, forty minutes south-west of the city. It is the third largest airshow in the world after Paris and Farnborough and the largest by some distance in its region, and its character is commercial rather than ceremonial: chalets and exhibition halls at ground level, a static park of civil and military aircraft, and a flying display each afternoon.

Order announcements are the show's real product. The 2025 edition drew a reported 248,788 visitors and produced announced deals above 202 billion dollars, among them a 38 billion dollar Emirates commitment for 65 Boeing 777-9s. Because the Gulf carriers are among the largest customers in commercial aviation, the announcements made in the first two mornings reset a good deal of the industry's order book.

01Por que importa

Dubai is where the airline order book is written. The Gulf's long-haul carriers, the region's defence budgets and the emirate's own ambitions in aviation logistics converge on one desert apron for five days, and the manufacturers structure their commercial year around it.

02A semana ao seu redor

Mid-November is the beginning of Dubai's good season and one of the busiest fortnights in its calendar; hotel demand across the city rises and the road south to Dubai World Central carries heavy morning traffic for the duration.

03Quando chegar

Arrive the Sunday before.

04Onde se hospedar

There is a genuine choice between proximity and the city. Dubai Marina and Jumeirah Beach Residence are the closest established districts to Dubai World Central, roughly thirty minutes out, and are where most delegations base themselves.

05Acesso e hospitalidade

The airshow is run as a trade event. Registration is for aerospace and defence professionals, delegations and accredited media, handled through the organiser's site; the public pages invite registration of interest rather than offering general admission.

06Onde ocorre a actividade social

During the show, the chalet line and the hall concourses are where business is done; in the evenings the industry disperses into the Marina, Downtown and Business Bay, where manufacturers, airlines and national delegations host dinners on their own lists.

07Como chegar

Aviação comercialDubai International, in the north of the city, carries almost all scheduled traffic and is about 55 km from the show site.
ComboioThe Dubai Metro red line runs south-west to Expo City, from which the show site is a short drive; there is no station at the airshow itself.
AutomóvelSheikh Zayed Road and the Emirates Road run south-west to Dubai World Central; the drive from Downtown is about 45 minutes outside peak times and considerably longer on the show's first mornings.
Aviação privadaAl Maktoum International is one of the region's principal business-aviation airports and hosts the show's own visiting aircraft; slot and parking pressure during the airshow is severe and arrangements are made months ahead.
HelicópteroHelicopter transfers operate within the emirate and to Abu Dhabi, and are used by delegations moving between the show and the city.
MarinasDubai Harbour, Dubai Marina and Port Rashid take visiting yachts, though the show generates no arrivals by sea.

08Aspectos práticos

TrajeBusiness dress in the halls and chalets, with sun protection and comfortable shoes for the static park and flight line, which are open apron with little shade.
ClimaMid-November in Dubai is warm and dry, with afternoon highs typically around 30 Celsius, comfortable evenings in the low twenties, and essentially no rain.
Deslocação e transporteThe site is remote and the commute is the main logistical problem of the week; shuttles run from designated points and delegations use coaches.
HotéisNovember is high season in Dubai and the airshow adds to already strong demand, particularly in the Marina and Downtown.
RestaurantesThe show site has exhibition catering only. City restaurants in the Marina, Downtown and Business Bay carry the evening business and are heavily booked during the show, with private rooms taken by manufacturers and delegations.
Prazo para reservasHotels two to three months ahead; restaurant private rooms in the Marina and Downtown several weeks ahead.
IngressosRegistration is handled by the organiser and is directed at trade visitors, delegations and accredited media rather than the general public.
HospitalidadeChalets on the flight line, exhibition stands and static display positions are sold by the organiser to exhibitors and national pavilions.

09Histórico

The event began in 1986 as Arab Air, a modest civil aviation trade show, and the first airshow proper was staged in 1989 at Dubai International Airport.

10Quem está presente

Airline fleet planners and chief executives; aircraft, engine and systems manufacturers; defence ministries and armed forces delegations; lessors, financiers and insurers; airport and air-navigation operators; space and unmanned-systems companies; national pavilion exhibitors; and a large international aerospace press contingent.
