Architecture's calendar has one fixed international gathering — the Venice Architecture Biennale, which opens in May of odd-numbered years and runs to November, filling the Giardini and the Arsenale in the years the art biennale does not. Its preview week draws the profession as the art edition draws collectors. Design weeks in Milan, London and Copenhagen carry the architecture conversation in the even years.
