01Qui le suit
Owners, charter guests, captains and crews, brokers, builders and designers, sailmakers and the racing sailors who crew the regattas. It is a circuit with a working core: the boat shows in Palma, Cannes, Monaco, Fort Lauderdale and Antigua are trade fairs first, and the regattas in St. Barts, Sardinia, Palma and Saint-Tropez are where the same boats race each other for cups. The public follows it from the quay, and the harbors at Gustavia, Porto Cervo, Saint-Tropez and Port Hercule during their events are among the most accessible spectacles on this site.
02Pourquoi ces événements sont liés
Because the fleet is one fleet. The boats that are in the Caribbean from December to April cross to the Mediterranean in May, race and cruise there until Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez in early October, cross back for Fort Lauderdale and the Antigua Charter Show, and start again. The shows and regattas are placed along that annual migration, and the dates have been adjusted over the years so that a boat can attend most of them without doubling back. Weather sets the frame: the Caribbean dry season and the Mediterranean summer are the two halves, and the two Atlantic crossings in May and November are the joins.

03La progression habituelle
The St. Barths Bucket in mid-March and Les Voiles de St. Barth in mid-April, then Antigua Sailing Week at the end of April to close the Caribbean season. The Palma boat show at the end of April, the Loro Piana Superyacht Regatta in Porto Cervo and the Rolex Giraglia from Saint-Tropez in June, the Superyacht Cup in Palma the same month. Cowes Week in early August for the British fleet. The Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup at Porto Cervo in the first week of September, the Rolex Swan Cup there in even years; the Cannes Yachting Festival in the second week of September, the Monaco Yacht Show in the fourth, Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez into early October. Fort Lauderdale at the end of October, the Antigua Charter Yacht Show in early December, and New Year's Eve in Gustavia.
04Géographie
Two basins joined by the Atlantic. The Caribbean stops are the Leewards: St. Barts and Antigua. The Mediterranean stops are the western basin: Palma, the Riviera from Cannes to Monaco, Saint-Tropez, and Sardinia's Costa Smeralda, with Genoa as the Giraglia's finish. Fort Lauderdale is the American trade stop; Cowes is the British one; the Sydney Hobart on Boxing Day, the Fastnet in alternate Augusts, the America's Cup wherever the defender puts it, and the Barcolana in Trieste are the circuit's outliers.
05Calendrier suggéré
The Mediterranean fortnight from the Cannes Yachting Festival through the Monaco Yacht Show to Les Voiles is the circuit's peak and the block to choose if choosing one; hotels in Monaco for the show are booked a year out and the Saint-Tropez harbor front for Les Voiles almost as early. The Caribbean's best fortnight is mid-March, for the Bucket, with the Palm Beach boat show on the mainland the same week. Porto Cervo in the first week of September is the finest racing to watch from shore.
06Chevauchements importants
The Monaco Yacht Show falls in the same week as Milan Fashion Week and the UN General Assembly's high-level week and a few days after the Régates Royales in Cannes. The Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup shares its week with the Venice Film Festival and the US Open. The St. Barths Bucket coincides with the Palm Beach boat show and TEFAF Maastricht. Antigua Sailing Week runs alongside the Palma boat show. Fort Lauderdale overlaps Art Basel Paris's final days.
07Où les participants se rendent ensuite
After Les Voiles, the boats go to the yards or to the Canaries for the crossing, and the owners to Paris for Art Basel Paris or to London for Frieze. After the Antigua show, to St. Barts for the holidays. After the Bucket, to Palm Beach and then to Europe for Cannes and Monaco in May and June, where the same faces are on different decks.
