La regola

An image is publishable only if the record can answer, in public, four questions: who made it, where it came from, under what licence, and whether that licence permits this use. Every image row must carry a creator, a source URL, a licence and a licence URL; the licence must be a public-domain dedication, CC0, CC BY or CC BY-SA. Non-commercial, no-derivative, fair-use, editorial-only and “all rights reserved” material is refused. The gate runs when images are loaded and again when a page is rendered, so a hand-edited record faces the same test as a harvested one.

Fonti

Photographs come principally from Wikimedia Commons, where the licence is read from each file’s own metadata rather than assumed from the collection; from official press material where the organizer’s terms permit it; and from public-domain government and tourism sources. We do not hotlink images from search results, reuse publication photography, or assume that an editorial image is free to use.

Attribuzione

Each page credits every photograph it shows — title, creator, source and licence — in one block at the foot of the page, so pictures are not cluttered and the licence obligation is met. Attribution lines link to the source file and the licence text.

Argomenti

Photographs depict places, venues and public occasions. They are never presented as depicting the attendees of a private event, and no image on the site is generated by a model.

If you are the creator of an image and believe it is used outside its licence, write to us; the image is removed while the question is checked.
