The Treasure House Fair occupies a temporary pavilion on the South Grounds of the Royal Hospital Chelsea for six days at the end of June, the same site the RHS Chelsea Flower Show uses in May. It runs to about seventy dealers and covers the full historical range, from antiquities and Old Masters through furniture, silver and jewellery to twentieth-century design and some contemporary work, with everything vetted by independent specialists before opening. It was built by two former Masterpiece London organizers in 2023, weeks after that fair was cancelled, and inherited the site, the timing and a good part of the exhibitor list. It is smaller than its predecessor and deliberately so: a visitor can see the whole thing in two or three hours.

01Neden önemlidir

London's June had a serious art and antiques fair for thirteen years and then, in early 2023, abruptly did not. Treasure House filled the gap in a single season and kept the historical trade's summer date alive at a moment when several other fairs in the same field were closing.

Our reading is that it now functions as the historical trade's counterpart to Frieze week: the June fair for people who buy across periods, positioned in the middle of the British summer season. Its scale is modest and its ambitions appropriately local, and that focus is why it worked when a larger predecessor did not.

02Etrafındaki hafta

Late June in London is the busiest stretch of the British summer season, and the fair sits inside it rather than dominating it. London Art Week, the Mayfair and St James's dealers' coordinated selling exhibitions of Old Masters, sculpture and works on paper, runs in the same fortnight and is free to walk into; the summer sales at Christie's, Sotheby's and Bonhams fall in the same weeks with free public previews. Beyond the trade, the diary is crowded: Royal Ascot in mid-June, Wimbledon at the end of the month, Henley at the start of July. Chelsea itself is quiet and residential, and central hotel rates are at their summer peak though the fair creates almost no additional pressure.

03Ne zaman varılır

The Wednesday preview if you have an invitation; otherwise any of the public days, of which the first two are busiest for the trade and the weekend is more general. The fair takes two to three hours. Build the day around it: London Art Week's galleries in the morning, the fair in the afternoon.

04Nerede kalınır

Chelsea and Belgravia are the obvious neighbourhoods and put the fair within a short walk or a five-minute taxi; the Cadogan and the Berkeley are the landmark addresses. South Kensington adds the museums and is ten minutes away. Mayfair and St James's are the right base for anyone whose week is really about London Art Week and the auction houses, twenty minutes by taxi.

05Erişim ve ağırlama

The fair sells tickets for the public days through its own website and at the entrance, and the organizer publishes prices each year; they are not reproduced here. The Wednesday preview is by invitation, issued by the fair and by exhibiting dealers to their own clients. Vetting by independent experts applies to every object shown, which is the fair's central claim and worth understanding before buying. London Art Week's selling exhibitions and the auction house previews in the same fortnight are free and open to anyone.

06Sosyal faaliyetin gerçekleştiği yer

The pavilion has its own restaurant and champagne bar and, because the fair is small, these function as the meeting rooms for the whole event. Outside, Chelsea's geography takes over: the King's Road and Sloane Square, the pubs and restaurants along the Embankment and around Royal Hospital Road, and the Chelsea Physic Garden a few minutes east. The trade's evenings happen in Mayfair and St James's rather than in Chelsea, around the London Art Week openings.

07Ulaşım

Ticari havacılıkHeathrow via the Piccadilly line or the Elizabeth line and a change, about an hour to Sloane Square. Gatwick to Victoria in thirty minutes, then two stops on the District line. London City is closest for European arrivals.
DemiryoluEurostar to St Pancras International, then the Piccadilly and District lines or a taxi, about thirty minutes. Victoria and Waterloo handle the southern national rail network. Sloane Square on the District and Circle lines is the nearest Underground station, about ten minutes' walk from the fair.
ArabaThe Congestion Charge and ULEZ apply and Chelsea parking is residents-only for most of the day. Taxis and walking from Sloane Square are the practical options.
Özel havacılıkFarnborough, Biggin Hill, Luton and London Oxford, all between 40 and 75 minutes from Chelsea depending on traffic.
HelikopterThe London Heliport at Battersea is directly across the river from the Royal Hospital and is the closest heliport in the city to any London fair.
MarinalarChelsea Harbour Marina is a short distance downstream on the Thames and takes small craft; there is no seagoing berthing in central London.

08Pratik bilgiler

KıyafetThe dressiest art fair in London, in keeping with the season around it: summer tailoring, dresses, and the sort of thing worn to Ascot without the hat. The pavilion is in a garden, so heels and grass are the usual problem. An umbrella is sensible in any English June.
Hava DurumuLate June in London is mild to warm, with daytime highs typically around twenty-two Celsius, long daylight until nearly ten in the evening, and a reliable chance of rain. The pavilion is covered but the approach across the Royal Hospital grounds is not. Description is qualitative; no station normals were sourced.
DolaşımSloane Square Underground is a ten-minute walk and is the easiest approach. Taxis drop at the Royal Hospital's Embankment or Royal Hospital Road gates. The 170 and 360 buses run along the Embankment. Walking from Victoria takes about twenty-five minutes and from South Kensington about the same.
OtellerLate June is peak season in London and central rates are high across the board, but the fair itself does not move them. Chelsea and Belgravia have limited hotel stock and fill first; South Kensington, Victoria and Mayfair have far more.
RestoranlarChelsea's restaurants are busy through the summer season but the fair does not overwhelm them, and a week's notice is usually enough. Dealers take private rooms in Mayfair rather than in Chelsea for client dinners. The fair's own restaurant takes bookings and is used heavily for lunches.
Rezervasyon zamanlamasıHotels three to four weeks ahead in a busy London June. Restaurants one to two weeks. Tickets are sold online in advance and at the entrance; the first two public days are the busiest for the trade.
BiletlerDay tickets for the public run are sold on the fair's website and at the entrance, with prices published by the organizer each year and not reproduced here. The Wednesday preview is by invitation only and is not sold. London Art Week's selling exhibitions and the summer auction previews across Mayfair and St James's in the same fortnight are free.
AğırlamaPreview invitations are issued by the fair and by exhibiting dealers to their own clients rather than sold. On-site hospitality consists of the pavilion's restaurant and bar, both open to ticket holders. There is no purchasable VIP tier. The auction houses and the London Art Week galleries run their own client programmes in the same weeks.

09Tarihçe

Masterpiece London ran on the same Royal Hospital Chelsea site from 2010 and became the principal British summer fair for art, antiques and design. Its owner cancelled the 2023 edition and closed the fair, citing rising costs and a weakened exhibitor base. Harry Van der Hoorn and Thomas Woodham-Smith, both involved in Masterpiece's organization, launched the Treasure House Fair on the same grounds and in the same slot within months. The 2026 edition was its fourth.

10Kimler orada

British and European collectors of antiques, jewellery, silver, furniture and pictures; the London historical trade in full; interior designers and decorators, who are a larger part of this fair's audience than of most; museum curators from British institutions; and a Chelsea and Belgravia local audience for whom the fair is a familiar part of the summer. The mix is older and more decorative-arts focused than the autumn fairs.
