Formula 1 at 2,240 meters in a city sports park, with a lap that runs through a baseball stadium and a crowd among the loudest of the season.

The Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez lies inside the Magdalena Mixhuca sports park in the east of Mexico City, fifteen minutes from the international airport and a world away from the neighborhoods most visitors stay in. The lap is 4.304 kilometers and sits at 2,240 meters above sea level, the highest on the calendar, which changes the engineering of the weekend entirely: the thin air cuts drag so severely that cars run their maximum-downforce wings and still reach the speeds they manage at Monza, while cooling and energy recovery struggle and drivers work harder for oxygen than anywhere else.
The layout's set piece is the stadium section. Near the end of the lap the track ducks into the baseball stadium inside the park and runs between permanent grandstands on both sides, giving Formula 1 its only enclosed, stadium-style crowd; the final corner then rejoins the remains of the Peraltada, the long banked curve that used to close the original circuit and that was bypassed when the race returned in 2015.
The crowd is the event. Attendance is among the largest of the season, ticket allocations sell out months ahead, and the noise inside the stadium is not comparable to anything else in the sport. The promoter sells zoned general admission and a separate hospitality tier, and the weekend carries a large concert and entertainment program that is part of the ticket rather than an extra.
01重要な理由
Mexico City is where Formula 1's Latin American audience assembles, and it has become one of the two or three best-attended weekends on the calendar since the race returned in 2015. It also has a cultural coincidence no other round can claim: the race falls at or immediately beside the Day of the Dead, so visitors arrive in a city given over to its most significant public festival, with the parade, the public altars and the cemeteries running in the same days as the Grand Prix. In our reading, that overlap is the strongest reason to choose this race over the two American rounds: the event inside the park is excellent and the city outside it is doing something more interesting than hosting a motor race.
02前後の週
The Day of the Dead is the larger event. Mexico City stages a major public parade in the days around 1 and 2 November, the historic center and Coyoacan fill with altars and marigolds, and hotel demand across the city is at its annual peak for reasons that have nothing to do with Formula 1. Race visitors therefore arrive into a city already full, with restaurants in Roma, Condesa and Polanco booked out and the museums running special hours. Around the circuit itself, the park is closed to ordinary use from midweek and the eastern boroughs carry heavy event traffic; the promoter's own entertainment program runs inside the park across the three days.
03到着時期
Wednesday or Thursday, and stay through at least Monday. The Day of the Dead programming runs on either side of the race weekend and is the reason to be here; treating the trip as a three-day race visit wastes it. Allow a day for the altitude, which affects sleep and exertion more than most visitors expect.
04宿泊先
Polanco is the established choice, with the largest concentration of international hotels, the museums and the restaurants. Roma and Condesa are the districts most visitors prefer, walkable and full of places to eat, with a growing supply of small hotels. Juarez and the Reforma corridor sit between the two and are convenient for both. The historic center is the place to be for the Day of the Dead itself. Nobody stays near the circuit, which is in a working part of the city with almost no visitor accommodation; every option involves a journey east.

The promoter sells zoned general admission tickets and a separate hospitality tier described as offering additional comfort and benefits, through its own site and Mexican bank pre-sales. Demand is high enough that all three sale phases for 2026 were reported sold out by early September. Grandstand seating in the stadium section is the most sought-after part of the circuit. Formula 1's Paddock Club operates at the round.
06社交活動の場
Inside the park, the stadium section and the entertainment stages. In the city, the restaurants and mezcal bars of Roma Norte and Condesa, the hotel bars and galleries of Polanco, the rooftops around the Zocalo during the Day of the Dead, and Coyoacan and San Angel at the weekend. Reporting each autumn describes an extensive program of brand and sponsor events across Polanco and Roma in race week; the public version of the same days is the Day of the Dead parade and the street altars, which cost nothing.

09沿革
The Mexican Grand Prix began as a non-championship race in 1962 at Magdalena Mixhuca and joined the championship from 1963 to 1970, a period ended by crowd-control problems. It returned in 1986 to a renovated circuit renamed for the brothers Ricardo and Pedro Rodriguez and ran until 1992, then disappeared again for twenty-two years. The modern event dates from 2015, rebuilt with the stadium section replacing the full Peraltada for safety, and has run every year since apart from the 2020 cancellation. In 2021 the race was rebranded the Mexico City Grand Prix. An extension signed in 2025 keeps it on the calendar until 2028.
10参加者
An overwhelmingly Mexican crowd, passionate and loud, with a substantial contingent travelling down from Texas after the United States Grand Prix; Latin American visitors from across the region; Mexican corporate hospitality buyers; and international visitors who have deliberately timed the trip to the Day of the Dead.
