Five acres of walled lawn belonging to the Honourable Artillery Company, in the middle of the City with office towers immediately behind, make an improbable and very effective show field. Around 130 cars are shown across three days in eight or nine themed classes — the 2026 edition covered Group A rally cars, Porsche Sonderwunsch commissions, hypercars, Alfa Romeo, restomods, tuners, American muscle and a wildcards class — and each day carries its own additional showcase, such as a Porsche display, a Jaguar XK gathering or a supercar day.

It is deliberately a party as much as a competition. Admission covers the cars, live music, food stalls, brand exhibitors and a bar, and the organizer sells the day in segments: a full day, an afternoon from two o'clock, or an evening from four, so that people working in the City can come after their own day. That segmentation is the event's central idea and explains its scheduling in midweek rather than at the weekend.

Thorough Events, which also runs the Concours of Elegance at Hampton Court Palace and sister events in Germany and Bahrain, organizes it. Judging and the awards presentation take place on the opening day.

01Por qué es relevante

The London Concours solved a problem other concours have not: it put significant cars inside a major city on a working weekday and priced the evening cheaply enough that people come after work. That has given it an audience that is younger and more urban than the concours norm, and it is one of the few events of its kind where the crowd is not overwhelmingly composed of owners.

In our reading, its selection is also more interesting than its scale suggests. Classes built around Group A rally cars, Porsche's bespoke commissions and modern restomods take contemporary collecting seriously rather than treating it as a supporting act, and the Best of Show has gone to cars — a Countach in 2026 — that a traditional concours would still consider recent.

02La semana en torno al evento

This is a City event and the City barely notices. There is no road disruption of consequence, no hotel pressure and no effect on the rest of London. What it changes is the evenings around Finsbury Square and Old Street, where the after-work crowd spills out from four o'clock onward. Mid-June in London is a busy stretch of the calendar in its own right — Royal Ascot and the start of the tennis and Henley build-up fall in the following weeks — so anyone assembling a British June can attach this to the front of that run without difficulty.

03Cuándo llegar

There is no arrival day to plan; this is an event you attend for part of one day. The Tuesday carries the judging and the awards and is the day for the concours proper. Afternoons are quieter than evenings. The evening ticket from four o'clock is the best value and the most sociable slot, and it is entirely reasonable to come for two hours and leave.

04Dónde alojarse

Anywhere in central London works; the venue is on the Northern line at Old Street and a short walk from Moorgate and Liverpool Street. The City and Shoreditch are the immediate neighborhoods, business-oriented and quiet at weekends but well supplied with hotels and, in Shoreditch's case, with restaurants and bars. Clerkenwell, ten minutes' walk west, is the pleasanter place to eat. There is no reason to pay for proximity.

05Acceso y hospitalidad

This is an open ticketed event and the organizer publishes its full tariff. For 2027 it lists adult day admission at £65, afternoon-only admission from 2pm at £45, evening-only admission from 4pm at £35, a student ticket at £45 and a child ticket for ages five to sixteen at £35. Add-ons include a 'Cocktail at the Concours' ticket at £40.80, a podcast recording ticket at £45 and a Charles Heidsieck champagne masterclass at £20. Club Concours hospitality, offered on all three days, is listed at £370 per person, with coffee and pastries, a champagne reception, all-day dining, an open bar and a dedicated enclosure. The organizer states that all hospitality prices are per person and include VAT. Entering a car is by application.

06Dónde tiene lugar la actividad social

The lawn itself, which functions as a garden party with a bar, a stage and food stalls; the Club Concours enclosure for hospitality guests; and, once the gates close, the bars of Shoreditch, Old Street and Clerkenwell, which absorb most of the crowd. Nothing about the evening is private, and the crowd is a mix of collectors and City workers who have walked over.

07Cómo llegar

Aviación comercialAll five London airports serve the city; Heathrow (LHR) and City (LCY) are the most convenient, City being twenty minutes away.
FerroviarioMoorgate, Old Street, Barbican and Liverpool Street are all within a ten-minute walk, putting the venue on the Northern, Circle, Metropolitan, Hammersmith & City, Elizabeth and national rail networks. This is the way to arrive.
AutomóvilDriving is a poor idea: the venue sits inside the Congestion Charge and Ultra Low Emission zones, and there is no visitor parking. Exhibitors and entrants have their own arrangements with the organizer.
Aviación privadaLondon City (LCY) takes smaller business jets and is closest; Farnborough, Luton and Biggin Hill are the main business-aviation fields for London.
HelicópteroLondon Heliport at Battersea is the city's only licensed public heliport, about half an hour away by road.

08Aspectos prácticos

VestimentaSmart summer clothes on grass. Many attendees come straight from City offices, so business dress is entirely normal, and the evening crowd is smart-casual. Nothing is enforced. Grass and heels are the usual mismatch.
ClimaMid-June in London is mild and changeable, with long evenings and a reasonable chance of showers. The lawn is exposed and there is limited cover; a light jacket for the evening is sensible. No station normals were sourced for this record.
Cómo desplazarseUse the Underground. The venue is minutes from four stations and driving into the City is expensive and pointless. Expect crowded platforms at Old Street and Moorgate at closing time; walking ten minutes to Barbican or Liverpool Street is faster.
HotelesNo booking pressure attributable to this event. London hotel rates in mid-June are at their usual summer level, driven by the wider season rather than by the concours.
RestaurantesFood and drink at the event are part of the ticket experience and most people eat there. Afterward, Shoreditch and Clerkenwell have ample capacity, though midweek bookings in June are worth making a few days ahead.
Momento de la reservaTickets go on sale the previous summer and are available up to the event in most categories; the Club Concours hospitality and the masterclass add-ons sell out first. No lodging lead time is required.
EntradasThe organizer publishes a full public tariff. For 2027: adult day admission £65, afternoon-only from 2pm £45, evening-only from 4pm £35, student £45, child aged 5-16 £35. Optional extras include a cocktail ticket at £40.80, a podcast session at £45 and a champagne masterclass at £20. All are sold online in advance.
HospitalidadClub Concours hospitality is listed by the organizer at £370 per person including VAT, available on each of the three days, and includes barista coffee and pastries, a Charles Heidsieck champagne reception, all-day dining, a complimentary bar, live entertainment and a dedicated enclosure. Brand and partner hospitality on the lawn is by invitation.

09Historia

The event was founded in 2017 and has been at the Honourable Artillery Company throughout. The HAC ground, chartered in the sixteenth century and surrounded by the City, is the reason the format works: it is large enough for a proper display, walled enough to feel separate, and five minutes from Moorgate and Old Street. The concours grew from a single-day event into three days, added themed daily showcases, and reached its tenth anniversary in 2026. Its organizer, Thorough Events, built a group of concours around it — Hampton Court Palace in September, Tegernsee in Germany in July, and Bahrain in November — of which London is the most urban and least formal.

10Quién está ahí

A mix unusual for a concours: owners and collectors, particularly of modern and 1980s and 1990s cars; City professionals attending after work; brand and manufacturer teams; automotive media and the enthusiast online community; and a younger general audience drawn by evening tickets and supercar day. Families attend but the event is not primarily aimed at them.
