The International Music Summit is the electronic music industry's annual conference, held on Ibiza each April since 2007 and now based at the Mondrian and Hyde complex above the bay at Cala Llonga. Its scale is deliberately modest — three days, a few hundred delegates, a programme the organiser put at more than 140 sessions, showcases and workshops for 2026 — and its subject matter has widened well beyond music into touring economics, artificial intelligence, licensing, mental health and the working conditions of the industry it serves.
Its most consequential output is a document rather than a session. The IMS Business Report, published each year at the summit, is the reference valuation of the dance and electronic sector; the 2023 edition put the market at 11.3 billion dollars. The summit's timing matters too: it lands before Ibiza's clubs open, so the industry meets on the island in the one part of the year when Ibiza is not yet itself.

IMS is the only conference where the electronic music business — labels, promoters, agencies, festivals, streaming platforms, artists and the technology companies selling to all of them — negotiates its own terms in public, and its annual report is the number everyone else cites.
02La semana en torno al evento
Late April on Ibiza is the shoulder: the weather has turned, the hotels along the east coast are opening, and the club season has not begun. That means the island is navigable, the roads are empty by summer standards, and restaurants take walk-ins.

Arrive Tuesday. The programme runs Wednesday to Friday and the evenings are the point as much as the days.

Cala Llonga, on the east coast about twenty minutes from Ibiza Town, is where the summit is and where most delegates stay, in the Mondrian and Hyde complex itself or in the small hotels around the bay.

IMS sells delegate badges directly through its website, with discounted pre-sale rates released well before the summit and prices rising as it approaches; the organiser does not publish a fixed public tariff on its front page and none is quoted here.

The hotel terraces above Cala Llonga carry the daytime and the sunsets; Ibiza Town, the Dalt Vila walls and the restaurants around the port and Marina Botafoch carry the nights.

The summit was founded in 2007 by Pete Tong, Ben Turner, Danny Whittle, Mark Netto and Simeon Friend, and has moved around the island as it has grown: the Ibiza Gran Hotel from 2008 to 2013, the Hard Rock Hotel from 2014 to 2019, Destino Pacha in 2022 and 2023, and Mondrian and Hyde since 2024. The digital music retailer Beatport acquired a majority stake in February 2023.
