Dubai Watch Week is a free, public watch fair built around a talks program rather than a sales floor. More than ninety brands take part, from the large groups to independent workshops, in a purpose-built structure at Burj Park in Downtown Dubai; alongside them the organizer runs the Horology Forum, a program of keynotes and panel discussions with chief executives, watchmakers, collectors and auction specialists, plus hands-on masterclasses in movement assembly, engraving and other crafts.

The retailer Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons created and runs it, with the support of Dubai Culture. That origin explains the format: a retail group with the whole industry as suppliers can convene brands that would not share a hall anywhere else, and it has no commercial reason to close the doors. General admission is free, with online pre-registration; the seventh edition, in November 2025, projected around thirty thousand visitors.

The event runs biennially, in odd-numbered years. The seventh edition moved it from the Dubai International Financial Centre, its home for most of its life, to Burj Park under the Burj Khalifa, and the organizer has said it returns there in November 2027.

01لماذا يهم

Dubai Watch Week is the only fair of its scale that is free, public and built around education rather than transactions, and it is the industry's principal appointment outside Switzerland. For the Gulf, which is one of the strongest watch markets in the world by value, it is the moment the brands come to the customer rather than the other way around.

In our reading, its distinctive contribution is the Horology Forum. Panels that put competing chief executives on the same stage in front of an unticketed audience do not happen at Geneva, and the recordings have become a genuine primary source on how the industry talks about itself. The biennial rhythm is the trade-off: the event is large and free because it only has to be paid for every other year.

02الأسبوع المحيط به

November is the beginning of Dubai's outdoor season, when the heat breaks and the city's event calendar restarts. Downtown Dubai around Burj Park, the Dubai Mall and the fountain is busy every evening regardless; the fair adds a large temporary structure to a park that is already the city's most visited public space. Traffic on Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard and into the Dubai Mall car parks is the practical constraint, and the Metro is the sensible answer.

The wider Gulf calendar is dense in the same weeks — the Dubai Airshow runs in November in odd-numbered years, and Abu Dhabi's Grand Prix and art week fall nearby — so hotel demand across the Emirates in this period is genuine.

03موعد الوصول

Come for two days if you want the exhibition and one forum session, three if you want the ateliers and the panels. The middle days are busiest in the evening; mornings are calm. Because entry is free and the site is in the middle of the city, this is an event you can drop into repeatedly rather than commit a day to.

04أماكن الإقامة

Downtown Dubai puts you within walking distance of Burj Park, which is worth a great deal in a city where nothing else is walkable; the hotels around the Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifa are the obvious choice. Business Bay, immediately south across the canal, is cheaper and a five-minute drive. DIFC, ten minutes north, suits anyone combining the fair with financial-district business and was the event's former home. The beach hotels at Jumeirah and Palm Jumeirah are twenty to thirty minutes away and are a different holiday altogether.

05الوصول والضيافة

General admission is free. The organizer asks visitors to pre-register online, and access to the Horology Forum sessions and the hands-on ateliers is allocated through that registration, with popular sessions filling. Brand appointments and private viewings within the fair are arranged directly with the houses. Press and trade accreditation is handled by the organizer. There is no paid hospitality tier of any kind, which is unusual for an event of this scale.

06مواضع النشاط الاجتماعي

The fair site itself, which functions as a public gathering place in the evenings, and the surrounding Downtown Dubai promenade, Souk Al Bahar and the Dubai Mall, all of which are public and busy until late. The Seddiqi boutiques across the city hold their own events during the week. Brand dinners take place in the Downtown and DIFC hotels by invitation.

07كيفية الوصول

الطيران التجاريDubai International (DXB) is about twenty minutes from Downtown Dubai and is one of the world's largest hubs; Al Maktoum International (DWC) is further out to the south.
قطارThe Dubai Metro Red Line serves Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station, which connects to the mall and the park by a long air-conditioned walkway. This is by some distance the easiest way to arrive.
سيارةSheikh Zayed Road and Financial Centre Road feed Downtown Dubai; parking is in the Dubai Mall structures and fills in the evening. Taxis and ride-hailing are cheap and plentiful but slow at peak.
الطيران الخاصAl Maktoum International (DWC) is the principal business-aviation field, with Dubai International also handling private traffic. Both are busy in November, particularly in Airshow years.
المروحيةSeveral Downtown and Palm Jumeirah properties have helipads and charter transfers operate from both airports.
المراسيDubai Marina, Port Rashid and Dubai Harbour take large yachts, all twenty to forty minutes from Downtown; arrival by sea is not part of this event.

08الجوانب العملية

الزي الرسميSmart casual, and lighter than you expect: November in Dubai is warm during the day and pleasant in the evening. The fair is partly open-air. Brand dinners and evening events are dressier and specify their own codes.
الطقسDubai in the second half of November is at the start of its good season — warm rather than hot by day, mild in the evening, low humidity by local standards, and reliably dry. This is why the event is scheduled then. No station normals were sourced for this record.
التنقل والتوجهUse the Metro. Burj Khalifa/Dubai Mall station connects directly to the fair site through the mall, and driving into Downtown in the evening is slow. Taxis are inexpensive but pick-up at the mall is congested; walking two streets away is faster.
الفنادقNovember is high season across the Emirates and Downtown Dubai is the most expensive district in it. In years when the Dubai Airshow or other November fixtures overlap, city-wide availability tightens sharply. Book two to three months ahead.
المطاعمDowntown Dubai has more restaurants than any visitor can use, and reservations at the better rooms are worth making a week ahead in November. Food at the fair site and in the adjacent mall is extensive.
توقيت الحجزRegistration for the fair opens online some weeks before and is free; forum sessions and ateliers are allocated first-come and fill. Hotels two to three months ahead for November.
التذاكرFree general admission with online pre-registration. Access to Horology Forum sessions and hands-on ateliers is included but allocated through registration and capacity-limited. No paid ticket exists.
الضيافةThere is no commercial hospitality program. Brands host clients in their own pavilions and at private dinners by invitation, and the organizing retailer runs its own client programming across its boutiques during the week.

09التاريخ

Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, founded in Dubai in 1950 and the dominant watch retailer in the Emirates, launched Dubai Watch Week in 2015. The first editions were annual and compact, staged in the Dubai International Financial Centre's Gate Village and Gate Avenue, and the format — free entry, a forum, ateliers, brand pavilions — was set from the start.

The schedule became biennial through the late 2010s, interrupted and then re-established around the pandemic. The event grew steadily in brand participation, and the seventh edition in November 2025 coincided with both its own tenth anniversary and the retailer's seventy-fifth, and moved to a much larger site at Burj Park. It operates under the patronage of Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and in partnership with Dubai Culture.

10من يتواجد هناك

Gulf collectors and Seddiqi's own clientele; brand executives, watchmakers and product teams, present in unusual numbers because of the forum; auction specialists and journalists; the online watch community, which treats the forum as a fixture; and a very broad free-entry public including families and residents, which is the largest group by number and the reason the event feels unlike a trade fair.
