The DP World Tour's season finale in Dubai, contested by the top fifty players and deciding the Race to Dubai.
An event page tells you when it happens (with how sure we are of the date), why it matters, how the week around it feels, when to arrive and leave, where people stay, how access works, and which events come before and after it on the circuit.
The DP World Tour Championship closes the European tour's year on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, a Greg Norman design in the desert west of Dubai playing to a par of 72 at 7,675 yards. Only the leading fifty players in the season rankings qualify, and the week settles two things at once: the tournament, for a purse of USD 10,000,000, and the Race to Dubai, the season-long ranking that carries its own bonus pool.
The event was created in 2009 when the tour replaced its Order of Merit with the Race to Dubai and moved its finale from Spain to the Gulf. As a spectator week it is comfortable and cheap: the tour publishes free Thursday admission on pre-registration, general admission covers the whole course and the Championship Village, and November in Dubai is the best month of the year for standing outdoors.
01Why it matters
This is the end of the European golf year and the week the tour's own hierarchy is settled, which gives it a competitive weight the field size does not suggest. In our reading it is the most accessible significant golf tournament in the world, in the literal sense that the organizer gives away a day of it, and that access is a deliberate part of how the tour presents itself in the region.
02The week around it
November is when Dubai reopens.
Corporate hospitality is concentrated on the course, in the tour's own structures and the sponsor pavilions, and reflects the Gulf's finance, logistics and property sectors rather than an international golf audience.
03When to arrive
Thursday is free with pre-registration and is the best value in professional golf, so arrive Wednesday and take all four days if you can.
04Where to stay
Jumeirah Golf Estates sits inland on the Sheikh Zayed Road corridor, so nothing near it is where you would otherwise stay.
05Access and hospitality
The tour sells and publishes access on its own tournament page. Thursday admission is free but requires advance registration for a ticket; Friday, Saturday and Sunday are paid; and children aged 17 and under are admitted free, though they must also hold a registered ticket.
06Where the social activity happens
The Championship Village is the tournament's public social space and is designed as one, with bars, food stalls and live music running through the afternoon and into the evening.

09History
Until 2008 the European tour's season ended with the Volvo Masters at Valderrama, a field of the leading sixty money winners.
10Who is there
Dubai's large expatriate golf community, Gulf-based corporate hospitality from finance, logistics and property, the DP World Tour's sponsors and partners, visiting European golf followers combining the week with a winter-sun trip, and a substantial local family audience drawn by the free Thursday and free under-18 admission.

Dates on record
| Edition | Dates | Status |
|---|---|---|
| 2027 | ExpectedNo 2027 dates have been published. The championship's pattern is a Thursday-to-Sunday tournament in the second or third week of November, which in 2027 gives 11 to 14 November. Note for planning that the Dubai Airshow is staged in odd-numbered years in November and may fall in an adjacent week, which would affect hotel and aircraft availability across the city. | |
| 2026 | ConfirmedScheduled for 12 to 15 November 2026 on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, contested by the leading fifty players in the DP World Tour Rankings and deciding both the tournament and the Race to Dubai. The tour's own ticketing page publishes the dates and the access terms: Thursday admission is free but requires pre-registration, Friday to Sunday are paid, and under-18s are admitted free with a registered ticket. The edition had not taken place as of today's date. |
