Golf's calendar is four majors and a cup. The Masters at Augusta in April is the one with a fixed home and a fixed week; the PGA Championship in May, the U.S. Open in June and the Open Championship in July rotate among historic courses, so the destination changes each year and is announced years ahead. The Ryder Cup in odd years and the Presidents Cup in even ones close the season in late September. Around them the Players Championship in March, the Scottish Open in July, the Alfred Dunhill Links at St Andrews in October and the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai in November draw their own crowds.
Access is by ticket lottery or hospitality for the majors; the Masters is the hardest ticket in the sport and the town around it is booked a year ahead. The Open's rota — Royal Birkdale in 2026, St Andrews in 2027 — decides where the British golf world is in July.
