Design's year opens with Maison&Objet in Paris in January, peaks with Salone del Mobile and Milan Design Week in April — the largest design gathering in the world — and closes with Design Miami beside Art Basel Miami Beach in December, with NYCxDESIGN in May, 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen in June, the London Design Festival and PAD London in the autumn and Homo Faber in Venice in even Septembers along the way. Design Miami's Basel edition has no announced 2026 or 2027 date.
Milan in design week is the clearest case on the calendar of a city becoming an exhibition: the Fuorisalone opens showrooms, palazzi and courtyards across the city for free.
