Abu Dhabi Finance Week is the annual programme of the Abu Dhabi Global Market, the emirate's international financial centre on Al Maryah Island, and it is structured as a week of constituent summits rather than a single conference. For the fifth edition in December 2026 the organiser describes more than 70 separate events and more than 800 speakers under the theme The Capital Community, Powered by Partnerships, with expected participation above 35,000. Those are the organiser's own projections.

The subject matter follows the emirate's ambitions: sovereign and institutional asset allocation, private markets, digital assets and tokenisation, artificial intelligence in finance, sustainable and transition finance, trade and energy, real estate and infrastructure. The week doubles as the moment ADGM itself announces licensing and regulatory news. The geography is compact: Al Maryah Island is a purpose-built district of towers, a mall and hotels connected by bridges to the main island, and most of the week happens within a few hundred metres.

01Why it matters

Abu Dhabi controls some of the largest pools of state capital in the world, and ADFW is the week those institutions and their counterparties convene at home. Its growth since 2022 has been faster than any comparable event, and it has become the December counterpart to Riyadh's October, giving the Gulf two fixed dates on the international investment calendar within six weeks.

02The week around it

Early December is the best time of year to be in Abu Dhabi, and the week sits in a crowded fortnight: the Formula 1 season finale at Yas Marina and the emirate's autumn cultural programme fall close to it, and hotel demand across the city is at its annual peak.

03When to arrive

Arrive Sunday: the UAE working week runs Monday to Friday, and Monday morning opens the programme.

04Where to stay

Al Maryah Island puts you inside the venue and next to the mall and hotel cluster that carry the week's meetings; it is the obvious choice and the first to fill.

05Access and hospitality

ADFW operates a mixture of paid delegate passes, invitation-only summits and free-to-attend sessions, varying by constituent event, with registration handled through the ADFW site. The organiser does not publish a single headline price and none is quoted here.

06Where the social activity happens

The hotel lobbies and restaurants of Al Maryah Island carry the daytime and early-evening meetings. Evening hospitality is hosted by banks, funds and government entities on private lists.

07Getting there

Commercial aviationZayed International Airport is about 30 km from Al Maryah Island, roughly 30 to 40 minutes by road, with wide global connectivity on Etihad.
RailThe Etihad Rail passenger network is being built out between the emirates but does not yet serve conference travel.
CarAbu Dhabi is a driving city with good roads and cheap ride-hail.
Private aviationAl Bateen Executive Airport, on the main island about 15 minutes from Al Maryah, is a dedicated business-aviation airport and one of the most convenient in the region; Zayed International also handles business traffic.
HelicopterHelicopter transfers operate between Abu Dhabi and Dubai and to offshore facilities, but road transfer is the norm for the conference.
MarinasAbu Dhabi has extensive marina capacity at Al Bateen, Yas and Zayed Port, though the week generates little arrival by sea.

08Practicalities

DressFormal business dress; suits are standard and the register is conservative.
WeatherEarly December in Abu Dhabi is the start of the pleasant season: afternoon highs typically in the mid to high twenties Celsius, comfortable evenings in the high teens, low humidity and almost no rain.
Getting aroundEverything is by car and journeys are short. Al Maryah Island is walkable end to end and connected by air-conditioned bridges between the towers.
HotelsEarly December is Abu Dhabi's peak and ADFW overlaps a crowded sporting and cultural fortnight, so rates are at their annual high and Al Maryah Island sells out first.
RestaurantsAl Maryah Island's restaurants are fully committed during the week, with much of the capacity taken by hosted dinners.
Reservation timingHotels two to three months ahead; restaurant tables a couple of weeks ahead, longer for the island itself.
TicketsRegistration runs through the ADFW website and differs by constituent event: some summits are free to attend on registration, some are paid, and some are by invitation only.
HospitalitySponsorship is sold institutionally by ADGM and the constituent summits.

09History

Abu Dhabi Global Market was established as a financial free zone in 2015, with its own common-law courts and regulator, and launched Abu Dhabi Finance Week in November 2022 as its annual showcase.
