01Quem o acompanha
Collectors, retailers and the trade press, the brands' executives and their guests, the auction specialists, and a growing public that follows the fairs from outside the halls. Geneva is the center: the trade fair in April, the spring and autumn auction weeks in May and November, the summer Geneva Watch Days and the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie in November are all Genevan, and the circuit could be described as Geneva plus its satellites. Only Watch, the biennial charity auction, is the one date with a wider public.
02Por que estes eventos se conectam
The industry is concentrated in one city and two valleys, and its calendar is set by that city's fair and the two auction houses' Geneva sales. Watches and Wonders in April is where the year's releases are shown; the Geneva sales in May and November are where the secondary market is priced; Geneva Watch Days in late summer and the GPHG in November are the industry's own autumn; LVMH's week in January and Couture in Las Vegas in June are the group and jewelry additions. Dubai Watch Week in odd Novembers is the one stop outside Switzerland that the whole trade attends.

03A progressão típica
LVMH Watch Week in January to open. Watches and Wonders at Palexpo in Geneva in the first half of April. The Geneva spring auctions in the second week of May. Couture in Las Vegas in the first week of June for the jewelry trade. Geneva Watch Days at the end of August or beginning of September. The Geneva autumn auctions and the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève in the second week of November, with Dubai Watch Week following in odd years. Only Watch, when it is held, falls in the Geneva November week.
04Geografia
Geneva, above all, and the watchmaking valleys behind it. Las Vegas for the jewelry fair, Dubai for the biennial, and the auction houses' rooms in New York and Hong Kong for the sales that bracket Geneva's. The circuit is the smallest in geography on this site and the most concentrated in date.
05Calendário sugerido
Watches and Wonders week in April is the stop that matters; the fair opens to the public on its final days and Geneva's hotels are full for all of it. The November fortnight, with the autumn sales and the GPHG ceremony, is the second. Geneva in either month is cold; the fair is indoors, the auctions are indoors, and the city is small enough to walk between them.
06Sobreposições relevantes
Watches and Wonders shares its week with the Masters and the Monte-Carlo Masters. The Geneva spring sales fall inside Cannes and beside the New York spring auctions. Geneva Watch Days coincides with the Venice Film Festival's opening and the US Open. The November auction week overlaps the New York fall sales, the Las Vegas Grand Prix and the ATP Finals in Turin; the GPHG ceremony has fallen days before Le Bal des Débutantes in Paris.
07Para onde as pessoas vão depois
After Watches and Wonders, to Milan for the Salone del Mobile the following week or to the Riviera for the Monte-Carlo Masters. After the November week, to Dubai in odd years, and to Miami Beach for Art Basel in early December. The January week leads straight into the men's shows and the couture in Paris.
