このサイトについて

The international social world moves. In January it is in the Alps and the Gulf; by spring it has passed through the art fairs and the Riviera; the early summer belongs to London, Basel and Paris; the high summer to the Mediterranean coasts and islands; the autumn to fashion, yachts, Frieze and the auction rooms; December to Miami and then the Caribbean. Global Social Season exists to make that movement legible — to answer, on any given week, where the season is, what is happening there, why it matters, and where it goes next.

It is built as a structured database first and a publication second. Every event is a permanent record; its dates are separate rows, each with a status (Confirmed, Expected, Date pending, Historical pattern, Completed, Cancelled), a source and the day it was verified. Every destination is described around when it matters rather than as a tourist guide, with a twelve-month activity graph computed from the events actually on its calendar. Circuits — the sequences people actually follow — are first-class pages. Seasons and months have their own guides. The pages that read like a magazine sit on top of that structure and never replace it.

The database currently holds 245 selected events, 561 dated editions (389 confirmed or completed), 58 destinations, 16 circuits and 905 sources, illustrated by 1230 licensed photographs.

対象外の事項

It is not a gossip site: no guest lists, no speculation about who attends, no descriptions of private parties. It is not a ticket seller, a travel agent or a concierge; where a commercial relationship exists it is labelled at the point of use and described in the affiliate disclosure, and it never determines what is listed or how it is scored. It is not a directory that lists everything: the premise is selection — roughly a few hundred events a year that carry the international calendar, chosen editorially and explained. And it is not a luxury magazine of cars, watches and jets. The subject is time, place, events and movement.

日付の処理方法

Dates are the most perishable facts on the site and are treated accordingly. A date is Confirmed only when the organizer or governing body has published it. When it has not, the calendar shows an Expected date projected from the event’s fixed pattern and says so; where even the pattern is unreliable the entry is marked Date pending. Editors receive a queue of upcoming events whose dates are not yet confirmed, of confirmations older than six months, of changed dates and of failing official links. Full detail is in the data methodology.

サーキットスコア

Events carry an editorial importance rating from 0 to 100 built from eight weighted factors — the concentration of influential attendees, international draw, the surrounding programme, cultural importance, business relevance, brand presence, scarcity of access and the destination’s own pull. It is a way of making editorial judgment consistent, not a measurement, and it is labelled provisional while the calendar is being built. The method is published; the component scores are not.

写真

Photographs are of real places and real events — harbours on race day, a centre court, a fair hall, a frozen lake with a polo pitch on it. Each comes from Wikimedia Commons or another source whose licence permits this use, and each carries its creator, source and licence in the credits at the foot of the page. No image on the site is generated. The image licensing policy describes the rules.

言語

The interface is available in sixteen languages. Records and editorial content are written in English; interface translation is machine-generated, so where a translated label reads oddly the English is authoritative. Legal pages remain in English deliberately.

訂正

Event dates change and this site will sometimes be behind them. If you know an error — particularly if you are the organizer — please tell us. Corrections to matters of fact are made promptly and recorded in the change log.
