up-carnival\nDates: The VRC had not published 2027 dates when checked o
n 6 September 2026. The Melbourne Cup has been run on the first Tuesday
in November since 1875 and the date is fixed in Victorian law as a pub
lic holiday\, so 2027 falls on Tuesday 2 November\, with Derby Day Satu
rday 30 October\, Oaks Day Thursday 4 November and Stakes Day Saturday
6 November. This is one of the most reliable date patterns in the calen
 dar.
